Depression is a mood disorder that is also called Major Depressive disorder or Clinical Depression. Someone suffering from depression experiences persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness. They may also lose interest in activities they once enjoyed, and may also have a loss of appetite and weight loss or the opposite, which would be increased weight gain. Feelings of worthlessness and having suicidal thoughts are also symptoms that come with having depression.
Depression also comes in many forms which include seasonal depression, perinatal depression, postpartum depression, or situational depression. There are a number of reasons why someone may be feeling extremely sad, lonely, and hopeless.
